Leave it to Total war players to always find something to hate. "oh you cant edit the whole map fuck you CA!" at least they are releasing these tools they don't have to at all. Just be grateful for once damn. Total war players have got to be some of the most whiny people on the internet.
That is soo shit that modding of the campaign map is still not a thing think about how much extra support and playing of total war would happen if they released that ability; it would allow amazing mods like third age to come into the newer total wars with great looking graphics it would add hundreds of hours extra into the games. HUGE disappointment that that ability wasnt released but i hope someday they will bring it into total war again.

This 'Mod Toolkit' is a fluke.
Still no campaign map editing. It's been that way since Empire.
We all know why
—> DLC.It's also a worrying sign that CA are snatching up the 'community leaders' now. First Darren and now Mitch (who was the mastermind behind the 'Great War Mod' and a nearly completed and fully free of charge manpower and supply system for Rome II which will never be released now.)
It's totally obvious that they're trying to undermine and significantly weaken the brilliant reviewing and modding community to get more sales on those damn DLCs.
2020 = TW modding is dead. Everything is 'hardcoded'.

Dude you should really play some battles
I'm not sure if some of the people commenting didn't watch the video or are just thick, but the campaign map is NOT fully modable. You can't completely make a new map. So this assembly kit doesn't mean that LOTR or GoT total conversions are now in the clear. They'll probably still be plagued by the campaign map issues that's been locked since Empire.
Does this mean no Custom Campaign Maps? No Rise of Mordor mod, GOT, or LOTR?
is this toolkit only for attila or could i use it for napoleon total war?

How are we ever going to regain the freedom in modding required to remake a real Third Age if we can't even move cities? You'll have to move misc objects in a hell of creative way to make the Europe map look like Middle-Earth..
You guys need to do a Massive Battle on the Battle of Clontarf The Ebdanians fighting to save there homeland and the The geats being the Norse-Gauls fighting for there new home against the Vikings invaders of the The Danes and The Jutes. Love to see it.
